| JOIN THE FUN FOR THREE DAYS OF HALLOWEEN
FESTIVITIES WITH DE SOL, WEIRD NJ AND ROCKIN' HALLOWEEN 2004 You've gone out and gotten a really great costume. The candy is all ready for the trick or treaters who will be out Sunday afternoon. Now, you just really need a cool place to hang. Spend the All Hallow's Eve weekend on Ocean Avenue for a weekend of music, costume contests, prizes and other fun and games. The weekend kicks off on Friday, October 29th, with the Halloween Jamboree featuring Asbury Park's own deSol, celebrating the release of their new self-titled CD on Curb Records, headlining with Tears of Hera. It's an exciting time for deSol, who just appeared on the WCBS/New York Morning show, "CBS2 This Morning," and are in the midst of a tour which includes shows in New York City and other cities in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as two gigs opening for R.E.M. in Mexico City in early December. deSol is definitely burning bright, and this is a great chance to see them up close before they start performing in larger venues. The party continues Saturday, October 30th, with The Weird NJ Halloween Party, featuring performances by Reno's Men and Frankenstein 3000, plus MC Glen Jones. "Weird NJ" is the very popular magazine and travel guide that celebrates all that is strange, odd and unique about the back roads, local lore and underground stories of the Garden State. Published by Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran, "Weird NJ" started out in 1989 as a small, self-published mailing that has grown into a well-known brand. The magazine can be found in bookstores, convenience stories and music shops everywhere, and "Weird NJ: The Book" and, most recently, "Weird US: The Book," bring all the secrets to you in beautiful hard-cover full-color. Saturday evening's party will feature costume contests, films, raffles and door prizes. Finally, the weekend comes to a ghoulish end on Sunday, October 31st with The Stone Pony Rockin' Halloween 2004, featuring performances by the underworld's scariest talent, Blue Day Golden and Red Lyte District, along with From Downtown, Angel of Vivalda, Scarlett Effect, Vext and The Bog. There will be a costume contest with $500 in cash & prizes for best, sexiest & funniest costumes, along with a Halloween trivia contest, bobbing for broken bones and lots of giveaways! So, after you've finished treating the kiddies (or, if you're out of candy and need to hide!), doors open at 3 pm and all ages are admitted. More information about the Stone Pony Halloween Weekend and all upcoming Stone Pony events can be found on our website, at www.stoneponyonline.com. |

Artists who have performed in previous years include Joe Grushecky, who has been joined onstage by Bruce Springsteen at each or the first four year’s concerts. Others who have joined the celebration include Michael J. Fox, who joined Springsteen, Grushecky and concert organizer Benjamin on stage for a raucous finale to last year’s opening night show of the song which gave the event its name, the Springsteen-penned, “Light Of Day.” Gary U.S. Bonds, La Bamba, Max Weinberg, Soozie Tyrell, Tony Amato a/k/a Boccigalupe and many others have also generously donated their time, talent and energy to the Light Of Day concerts. Benjamin also worked with Salvador Trepat to release the album "Light Of Day: A Tribute To Bruce Springsteen." The album has sold over 23,000 copies in the U.S. allowing the donation of over $100,000 to the PDF and the Kristen Ann Carr Fund for sarcoma research. As in previous years, there will a raffle with many great donated prizes including concert tickets sports tickets and gift certificates and other prizes donated by local merchants. For the first time there will a Light Of Day auction.
